My dear friend Beth Broderick, who played Mrs. Forrest
in the film of Psycho Beach Party. She's not only a marvelous actress but
does more charitable good works than anyone I know.

In April, 2003, my old alma mater, Northwestern, gave me an alumni merit award.
Quite a shock to one who considered himself pretty much a pariah in the Theatre Department in those far off days. I had a truly memorable weekend in Chicago with my old college pal, Ed Taussig. Here we are at the awards banquet with the lovely new Dean of the School of Communications, Barbara O'Keefe.

Since
my career is one long Halloween party, I rarely dress up on October
31st. I made an exception not long ago. Carl Andress and I got
rigged up as 19th century vampires for a fun party. All modesty aside, I
think we look lethal and quite gorgeous.

Celebrating the opening night of the 2003 production of
Shanghai Moon with director Carl Andress and my marvelous leading man,

Rosie O'Donnell came to the opening night
performance of Shanghai Moon. She's a truly great gal. She's produced the Broadway production of the London musical Taboo with a score by Boy George and
asked me to wrote a book new book. It didn't run very long, but it
certainly has it's share of admirers. |

My
new picture Die Mommie Die was shown at the Provincetown
Film Festival. Here I am with the wonderful director of Far
From Heaven, Todd Haynes, and the director of my own film, Mark
Rucker.

At the
Provincetown Film Festival, I was totally immersed in the wild and wacky
world of independent filmmaking. Here I am hobnobbing with director,
Todd Haynes, indie producer, Christine Vachon and legendary filmmaker,
John Waters.

My

was given a career achievement award. A bit aging, to be sure, but a
real thrill.

Attending
a performance of the hit musical "Wicked" accompanied by none
other than the original movie Coroner of Munchkinland, Meinhardt Raabe.
Quite a fella.
